The doors of the Hawkesbury Leisure and Learning Centre were flung open today by the Executive, Board, Staff and Volunteers of Peppercorn Services Inc as they celebrated twenty years of their many-faceted organisation.
The occasion kicked off an open week at the Centre which will see complimentary barista coffees offered to visitors for one hour each day, and a visual display which documents the timeline of Peppercorn's journey since its 2001 establishment.
Peppercorn board member and principal of The Gap Consultancy Angela Maguire says it's a pleasure to celebrate twenty years of Peppercorn and its services to the Hawkesbury, adding that it's a great time to recognise Peppercorn's support of local communities.
"Peppercorn has a strong volunteer base, and it would be impossible to do the things we do without both the skilled staff and the volunteers of the Hawkesbury who carry out that work," she says.
Executive Officer Jessica Innes agrees, adding that, "Over the twenty years, Peppercorn has grown and evolved as an organisation, servicing both the remote and the metropolitan communities of the region. Locals are welcome to join us to celebrate, with free tea and coffee at two o'clock each day. Pop over, meet the staff and feel welcome to have a chat to us now and into the future."
